Issues and workarounds 8
Issue
Unable to change the server profile iSCSI boot setting of iSCSI HBA Connection port 1 if port 2 is configured
as PRIMARY
Workaround
Configure port 1 as PRIMARY for iSCSI boot.
Issue
Unable to use LDAP authenticated user to perform VC firmware update when the VC Domain is managed by
VCEM and using VCEM Firmware Update Mode
Workaround
Provide local user credentials or use VCEM maintenance mode to perform VC firmware update.
Issue
Making back to back changes on an assigned Server Profile boot mode setting (UEFI/Legacy) without
powering up the server could leads to inconsistent boot mode setting
Workaround
Power on server after making server profile boot mode changes.
Issue
In rare occurrences, a VCSU upgrade for an HP VC 20-Port FC Module may fail, and the VCSU log file will
show a message similar to “Unable to get module IP address” for HP VC 20-Port FC Module.
Workaround
Reset the affected HP VC 20-Port FC Module using the OA, and then retry the upgrade.
Issue
FIPS: Inconsistent SNMPv3 traps are generated from VCM
Issue
When linked distribution is set to Auto and a new port is added to the fabric, server logins are redistributed
within 5 seconds. The link distribution interval setting in VCM has no effect.
Issue
QoS does not take effect when one 40G port sends oversubscribed traffic to 10/20G port.
Issue
A server using an HP FlexFabric 20Gb 2-port 630FLB/630M Adapter and configured to use Ethernet Jumbo
frames may experience lower FCoE throughput if server traffic is oversubscribed (more than 20Gb over) on
the FlexFabric Adapter port and the server is only reading disks without writing them. This is because the
Ethernet traffic consuming excessive bandwidth.
Workaround
Configure the server to use standard 1500 byte MTU frames. Alternatively, ensure that server traffic
(FCoE + Ethernet) doesn’t oversubscribe the port bandwidth of 20Gb.
Issue
If a single server is passing FCoE traffic and port monitoring is enabled, the FCoE traffic rate can drop
significantly.
