Release Notes Contents Release Notes Contents These Release Notes cover the following major topics: • Hardware and Software Compatibility, page 4 • Limitations and Known Issues, page 6 Intended Audience This document is intended for customers who purchased EVM V2.0 and are now updating these environments, and for Compaq authorized service providers responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining systems that include EVM Server and EVM Host Agent software.
Hardware and Software Compatibility Hardware and Software Compatibility The following sections identify hardware and software that support this EVM Host Agent.
Hardware and Software Compatibility HBA and Driver Compatibility Supported Fibre Channel host bus adapters (HBAs) for this EVM Host Agent are shown in Table 1. Table 1: HBA and Driver Compatibility Information Vendor Compaq Name Firmware Driver LP8000 KGPSA–CB 3.82a4 2.02 LP9002 FCA2354 3.81a4 2.
Limitations and Known Issues Limitations and Known Issues This section is an extension of a similar section in the SANworks by Compaq Enterprise Volume Manager (Multi-OS) Update Network Administration Guide1 (AA–RQ72C–TE) and can help avoid problems while using EVM V2.0C.
Limitations and Known Issues 2. If necessary, remove any other versions. 3. If the problem persists, try a different browser version. Snapshot Is Not Supported HSG80 snapshot functionality is not supported on Tru64 UNIX. An incompatibility exists between how the HSG80 array controller responds to the creation of a snapshot and how Tru64 UNIX handles certain informational events.
Limitations and Known Issues Unit Style Replication Not Supported with AdvFS Domains The CLONE operation provides two syntax styles: • Unit syntax—replication sources are specified in terms of the applicable HSG80 subsystem and unit number. This method does not provide any mechanism for quiescing an AdvFS domain or gathering the meta data necessary to reconstruct a domain on the mount-on host. Unit style replication is suitable only for UFS or raw devices and is not supported with AdvFS.
Limitations and Known Issues If the buffer capacity is exceeded, the evm.txt log indicates a “pipe_read_error” and the applicable host is grayed out in the EVM Resource page. To fix this problem, change the default buffer size (256 KB) by modifying the XML_BUFFER_SIZE entry in the sb.ini file on the affected host.
