To view the product ID’s on your dual-redundant controllers, establish a local
connection to the controller through the maintenance port of one of the
controllers, (which becomes “this controller”). Enter the following commands
and observe the resulting displays:
SHOW THIS_CONTROLLER
SHOW OTHER_CONTROLLER
The product ID is shown in the first characters of the display, prior to the
hardware serial number. Most controllers have the product ID of “HSZ50” but
a very few controllers may have the product ID of “HSZ50 (C) DEC.”
• IF the Product ID’s of the two HSZ50 controllers in a dual-redundant pair
are the same, use the procedure for Same Product ID’s for Dual-
Redundant Rolling Upgrade (Section 9.2.2.1).
• IF the Product ID’s of the two HSZ50 controllers in a dual-redundant pair
are different, and IF your current Compaq Tru64 UNIX operating system
version is V4.0x or lower, use the procedure for Different Product ID’s
and Compaq Tru64 UNIX V4.0x for Dual-Redundant Rolling Upgrade
(Section 9.2.2.2).
• IF the Product ID’s of the two HSZ50 controllers in a dual-redundant pair
are different, and
IF your current Compaq Tru64 UNIX operating system
version is V5.0, use the procedure below for Different Product ID’s and
Compaq Tru64 UNIX V5.0 for Dual-Redundant Rolling Upgrade
(Section 9.2.23).
