Augmented Failover, Failback, and Role Reversal Procedures
18 Application Notes – Data Replication Manager with HP Tru64 UNIX Logical Storage Manager
Chapter 12: Unplanned Site Failover With Failback To New Hardware Procedure
• On page 12-4, perform the following additional target site tasks at the end of the
HP Tru64 UNIX-specific operations in step 3b:
Import the disk groups using the forced import, with the clear host ID flag. Start the volumes,
if not already started, then mount the volumes.
• On page 12-14, perform the following additional target site tasks prior to step 4:
Unmount the volumes, then deport the disk groups.
• On page 12-18, perform the following additional initiator site tasks at the end of the
HP Tru64 UNIX-specific operations in step 6b:
Import the disk groups. Start the volumes, if not already started, then mount the volumes.
Chapter 13: Planned Site Role Reversal Procedure
• On page 13-2, perform the following additional initiator site tasks prior to the operations in the
HP Tru64 UNIX-specific operations in step 2b:
Unmount the volumes, then deport the disk groups.
• On page 13-5, perform the following additional target site tasks at the end of the
HP Tru64 UNIX-specific operations in step 2b:
Import the disk groups. Start the volumes, if not already started, then mount the volumes.
• On page 13-7, perform the following additional target site tasks prior to step 5:
Unmount the volumes, then deport the disk groups.
• On page 13-8, perform the following additional initiator-target site tasks at the end of the
HP Tru64 UNIX-specific operations in step 2b:
Import the disk groups. Start the volumes, if not already started, then mount the volumes.
Augmented Procedures with Command Line Interpreter
If you are using CLI commands for failover, failback, and role reversal procedures, you use the
procedures found in the November 2001 release of the hp StorageWorks Data Replication Manager
HSG80 ACS Version 8.7P Failover/Failback Procedures Guide. Augment those procedures with the
following steps:
Chapter 2: Unplanned Site Failover with Full Failback Procedure
• On page 2-9, perform the following additional target site tasks at the end of the
HP Tru64 UNIX-specific operations in step 13b:
Import the disk groups using the forced import, with the clear host ID flag. Start the volumes,
if not already started, then mount the volumes.
• On page 2-19, perform the following additional target site tasks at the end of step 9:
Unmount the volumes, then deport the disk groups.
• On page 2-28, perform the following additional initiator site tasks at the end of the
HP Tru64 UNIX-specific operations in step 10b:
Import the disk groups. Start the volumes, if not already started, then mount the volumes.
