Troubleshooting
If Device’s Status is ERROR
Symptom Cause/Solution
Device’s status is ERROR in the
device status table.
FC Manager is reporting a fan failure for the device. Verify
the device’s fan status on the Device Status (hub), Switch
Status (switch) or Fan Status (bridge) page. If the fan status is
BAD, see page 151.
FC Manager is reporting a power supply failure for the
device. Verify the device’s power status on the Device Status
(hub) or Switch Status (switch) page. If the power status is
BAD, see page 152.
FC Manager is reporting a temperature alarm for the
device. Verify the device’s temperature status on the Device
Status (hub) or Switch Status (switch) page. If the temperature
status is BAD, see page 153.
The cable between the device’s ethernet port and
management server is loose, broken, or missing. Verify
that the cable is properly connected to the device and server. If
necessary, replace the cable.
Network congestion or slow device response caused a
time-out between the management server and device.
Increase the time-out and/or retry values in the FC Manager
3.0 installation utility (see page 34).
The device’s FC Manager IP address is incorrect.
Verify that the IP address on the Devices page is the same as
the IP address configured for the device. (See the manual that
came with the device for more information on configuring the
IP address.)
The device’s FC Manager get community name is
incorrect. Verify that the get community name on the Devices
page is identical to the get community name configured for the
device. This field is case sensitive. (See the manual that came
with the device for more information on configuring the get
community name.)
A child hub is added to FC Manager as a parent hub. Either
delete the hub from FC Manager or reconfigure the hub as a
parent hub. (See the
HP SureStore E Hub Models S10 and
L10 Service and User Manual
for more information on
configuring a hub as a parent or child.)
