70 Configuring FSE

For an FSE media pool consisting of disk media, you need to configure the following parameters in its
configuration file:
Name
MediaFamily
PoolType
BlockSize
VolumeSize
4. Add the new FSE pool to the FSE implementation. MediaPoolCfgFileName is the name of the local
copy of the FSE pool configuration template:
Using the FSE graphical user interface, you configure an FSE media pool as follows:
1. Start an interactive session with the FSE Management Console client.
For details, see section ”Using the FSE Management Console for configuring resources and policies
on page 42.
2. If not already connected, choose the online operational mode and connect to the FSE Management
Console server.
For details, see section ”Choosing online operational mode” on page 43.
3. Right-click the container Media Pools, click New, and then click Manual.
4. In the [ New MediaPool ] - Creation window, enter the required parameter values into the available text
fields.

5. Click OK.
Phase 3: preparing HSM file systems
You need to prepare an HSM file system for each FSE partition that you plan to configure. For details, see
Creating and preparing new HSM file systems” on page 71.
