Templates
For each resource type, a default configuration template is available so that you do not need to create
configuration files from scratch. The templates already contain most of the required parameters with
remarks on the appropriate use of configuration variables, and details of maximum and minimum values.
When configuring a new FSE resource, make a copy of the appropriate template, modify the copy
according to the characteristics of the resource, and then configure the resource using the copy.
NOTE: While modifying templates for configuration of new resources, preserve the double quote
characters (") that surround the values of some variables. Removing these characters may lead to problems
with adding new resources in certain cases.
The templates are located in the following directories on the consolidated FSE system or FSE server:
Linux specific
Windows specific
To configure your resources and your policies, use FSE commands or the FSE Management Console.
Resource configuration is described in section ”Using the FSE command-line interface for configuring
resources and policies” on page 40. For more information on FSE commands, see ”FSE command-line
interface” on page 21. For more information on the FSE management console, see ”FSE Management
Console” on page 23.
See appendix ”FSE configuration templates” on page 293 for details on default settings in FSE
configuration files and for maximum and minimum parameter values.
Configuration Database
The FSE configuration is stored in the Configuration Database. This database maintains a configuration
history for each configured FSE resource thus providing multiple revisions of configuration files. When you
reconfigure your resources, the new configuration is marked with a new revision number.
