To start the FSE Management Console server in the foreground mode, proceed as follows:
1. Click Start > Programs > Hewlett-Packard > FSE > FSE GUI–Server (Process).
Stopping the FSE Management Console server on Windows systems
On the Windows platform, the FSE Management Console server can be stopped using the command-line
interface or the graphical user interface.
Stopping the FSE Management Console server using the operating system CLI
To stop the FSE Management Console server that is running in the background mode, proceed as follows:
1. Change the current directory as shown:
The value of %InstallPath% depends on the choice made in the FSE installation process. It defaults
to C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\FSE.
2. Run the following command, specifying the appropriate options:
At the command line, specify the option -U or -T to uninstall or stop the service of the FSE
Management Console server, respectively. You can specify additional options for the guisrv
command as needed.
To stop the FSE Management Console server that is running in the foreground mode, proceed as follows:
1. Change focus to the FSE GUI-Server (Process) window.
2. Press the key combination CTRL + C.
Stopping the FSE Management Console server using the operating system GUI
To stop the FSE Management Console server that is running in the background mode, proceed as follows:
1. Run the Services administrative tool.
2. Locate and right-click the entry File System Extender GUI Server.
3. Click Stop.
To stop the FSE Management Console server that is running in the foreground mode, perform either of the
following actions:
• In the FSE GUI-Server (Process) window, click the standard button for closing windows in the operating
system GUI.
