Backup, restore, and recovery problems
Description At the end of an HSM file system recovery, some files are reported as being 'reserved' in the
output of the fserecover command.
Explanation The word reserved means that file IDs were assigned to new files on the HSM file system, but
these files had been either deleted or changed before they could have been migrated using
these particular file IDs. Such file IDs were only recorded in the File System Catalog. These files
have been migrated using other, newly generated, file IDs. The āreservedā entries therefore, do
not indicate data loss.
Workaround None
Description After recovery of an HSM file system, files that were previously deleted from the HSM file
system are recreated, but online files that still existed are truncated.
(Windows FSE client specific)
Explanation n/a
Workaround Proceed as follows:
1. Delete obsolete files from the HSM file system once again.
2. If you want truncated files to be immediately available, use the fsefile command to
recall them manually.
In the opposite case truncated files will be automatically recalled at first access.
