While an HSM file system is operating in Limited Access Mode, do not invoke the
fsefile --recall command in order to recall offline files. In this operational mode offline files
should not be recalled manually.
Switching to Limited Access Mode
Prerequisites
• FSE processes on the FSE server and the FSE client must be running.
• The HSM file system must be operating in FAM.
To switch the HSM file system access to LAM, use the fse command and specify the name of the
corresponding disk volume:

Limited Access Mode error messages
When an HSM file system is operating in Limited Access Mode, if access to an offline file or modification
of HSM FS contents is denied to a third-party application, the application displays its own error message.
Different applications therefore report different error messages.
Command prompt (after the Windows’ native copy command is invoked)
Windows Explorer (after an offline file is pasted or dragged over to another location)

Monitoring FSE jobs
FSE provides facilities to monitor FSE jobs that are currently running in the FSE implementation. You can use
either FSE command-line interface or FSE Management Console to list and view statuses of FSE jobs. When
using FSE command-line interface, you can also narrow your query to list only jobs of a particular type.
Listing FSE jobs
To list FSE jobs using the FSE command-line interface, run the following command:

• job ID
• name of the FSE partition for which the job is running
