Managing FSE partitions
FSE implementation can be configured to include one or more FSE partitions. Each FSE partition can be
located on consolidated FSE system or an external FSE client. You can use FSE command-line interface or
the FSE management console to monitor the status of a particular FSE partition, temporary disable or
enable the FSE partition, retrieve detailed FSE partition information or permanently remove the FSE
partition.
Windows specific
On Windows platform, switching between the two available HSM file system access modes can only be
performed using FSE command-line interface, with the command fse.
Monitoring FSE partition status
Status of an FSE partition includes the following information:
partition name
current status (ready, disabled, recovery mode, mounted, error, unknown)
host and mount point of the belonging HSM file system
number of migration, recall, maintenance, and recovery jobs running on the partition
list of FSE media pools assigned to the partition, with the following information for each media pool:
media pool name
total storage and available storage capacity on media in the media pool
percentage of already used storage capacity on media
total storage and available capacity on system volumes on media in the media pool
percentage of already used storage capacity on system volumes
number of “good” (usable), unreliable, unusable, and uninitialized media in the media pool
NOTE: Some of the above properties can only be retrieved using the FSE command-line interface.
