110 Managing media
Scanning media for obsolete data
You can run the scanning step of the reorganization process on all media belonging to a particular FSE
partition, using the following command:
NOTE: You can omit the time part (HH:mm:ss) of the ExpirationDate argument ("YYYY/MM/DD
HH:mm:ss"). In this case, the time 00:00:00 is assumed.
During the execution of the job, fsepartition reports the job execution progress to the standard output,
allowing you to monitor the scanning process in the command shell.

Checking the resulting statistics of a reorganizational scan job
After the scan job is completed, you can check the statistics gathered during the scanning process. You
can display both statistics related to individual FSE media pools and statistics related to individual FSE
media assigned to the specified FSE partition.
Displaying the FSE media pool-based statistics
To check the statistics for all configured FSE media pools:
1. Ensure that all scan jobs have completed.
2. Run the command:

NumOfMedia Number of FSE media assigned to the media pool.
ValidData Amount of space on the FSE media, assigned to the media pool, occupied by valid
file generations.
If the FSE media pool has not yet been scanned for reorganization, it has 0 (the
zero value) displayed in place of the ValidData amount.
