Installing the FSE Management Console
This section describes how to install the FSE Management Console server and client components.
To use the FSE graphical user interface, you need to install the Management Console server as well as the
Management Console client.
NOTE: You must install the FSE Management Console server on the system that hosts the FSE server.
You can install the FSE Management Console client on any system in the intranet, not necessarily on a
system that is part of the FSE implementation. This is possible as long as there is no firewall between the
FSE Management Console server and FSE Management Console client systems or the firewall allows
communication through the ports that are used by CORBA.
For details on how to configure and start the FSE Management Console components, see the FSE user
guide, chapter Configuring, starting, and stopping the FSE Management Console”.

Automating the mounting of HSM file systems
To mount HSM file systems automatically, add entries for these file systems to the local file system table in
the file /etc/fstab. Use the mount points and device file paths from your actual file system configuration
on the local host:
1. Create a directory that will serve as a mount point for the HSM file system:
# rpm -ivh fse-gui-server-3.4.0-Build.i386.rpm
# rpm -ivh fse-gui-client-3.4.0-Build.i386.rpm
# mkdir /fse/fsefs_01
