38 Installing FSE software
The initial content of the file /etc/opt/fse/services.cfg that you need to modify according to the
actual host name is the following:
Verifying and repairing the installed FSE software
Once the FSE release software has been correctly installed, you can use the following procedure to identify
the build number. The procedure can also be used for detection of a corrupted FSE software installation.
Determining the build number
All files that are part of a particular FSE release software or a particular FSE system maintenance release
have the same build number. The build numbers of different system maintenance releases are different. The
build number of each FSE system maintenance release also differs from the initial FSE release build
number.
NOTE: Build numbers are the same across all supported platforms: therefore the build numbers of Linux
and Windows installation packages do match.
NOTE: You can also use this procedure for identifying the installed FSE system maintenance release. For
details on FSE system maintenance releases, see appendix ”FSE system maintenance releases and hot
fixes” on page 73.
Determine the FSE build number using the following command:
Version numbers of all installed FSE packages must be the same, including their Build and Distr
components.
Repairing the FSE software installation
If the FSE software installation becomes corrupt, you need to repair it by re-installing it.
NOTE: You can also use this procedure for repairing the installed FSE system maintenance release. For
details on FSE system maintenance releases, see appendix ”FSE system maintenance releases and hot
fixes” on page 73.
