8. If you want to secure the access door, tighten the security screw and slide the decorative panel
forward (2).
NOTE: You must use a T-10 tamper-resistant Torx screwdriver available from HP to tighten
the security screw.
9. Reconnect the power cord and press the power button.
The computer automatically recognizes the additional memory when you turn on the computer.
Removing and Installing a Hard Drive
CAUTION: If you are replacing a hard drive, be sure to back up the data from the old drive so that
you can transfer the data to the new drive.
1. Turn off the computer properly through the operating system, then turn off any external devices.
2. Disconnect the power cord from the power outlet.
CAUTION: Regardless of the power-on state, voltage is always present on the system board
as long as the system is plugged into an active AC outlet. You must disconnect the power cord
to avoid damage to the internal components of the computer.
