c. Click the Networking tab.
The Network Settings page appears. The General tab is open.
d. Click the Wireless tab.
e. Scroll to the Authentication section, and click Advanced Configuration.
The Wireless Communication Mode page appears.
f. Select Infrastructure and click Next.
The Wireless Network Name page appears.
g. Select a network name (SSID) from the list of detected networks, or
enter the name of a new wireless network.
h. Click Next.
The Wireless Authentication page appears.
i. Select either EAP/802.1x or EAP/PSK.
j. Do one of the following:
– If you chose EAP/802.1x, select the authentication method your device
will use on the wireless network, enter authentication server
information, validate the HP PSC with the authentication server,
configure the necessary certificate, and enter server settings.
– If you chose EAP/PSK, enter a Pass Phrase (from 8 to 63 characters in
length, including spaces) that will be used by the software to generate
a pre-shared key.
Note: All devices on the network must use the same pass phrase.
k. Follow the onscreen instructions to configure the HP PSC for the
authentication and encryption type selected.
l. When, finished, click Next.
The Configuration Review page appears.
m. Verify the information is accurate, and then click Finish.

" No signal is being received by the device because it is not in range of the
access point (infrastructure) or computer (ad-hoc).
Move the HP PSC and the computer closer together. If the distance
between your computer and the printer is significant, try reducing the
distance. If possible, provide a clear path between the computer and print
server, and minimize sources of radio interference.
" You set up for USB and now want to connect to a network.
a. If you previously set up your HP PSC for local use, uninstall the software
before proceeding.
b. Disconnect the USB cable from your computer and the HP PSC.
c. Connect your HP PSC to the network with CAT-5 Ethernet cable and
install the software.
" The Setup program tried to change the computer’s wireless configuration
so that it can talk to the HP PSC, but was unable to reprogram the settings
on the computer’s wireless access card.
a. Quit all applications.
