hp instant share network setup and

use

Using a networked HP PSC 2500 Series, HP Instant Share makes it easy to send

photos that family and friends can view. Just take a photo or scan an image,

select the photograph or image, and use a simple menu on your device’s color

graphics display to tag your photos with Destinations, which include your favorite

e-mail addresses or e-mail distribution lists. You can even upload your photos

(depending on your country/region) to an online photo album, or an online

photo finishing service.

With HP Instant Share, family and friends always get photos they can view—no

more large downloads or images that are too big to open. An e-mail with

thumbnail images of your photos is sent with a link to a secure Web page where

your family and friends can easily view, share, print, and save your pictures.

You can also send pictures stored on a computer (Windows only). Just access

HP Instant Share from the HP Photo & Imaging Director (HP Director) software

that comes with your HP PSC 2500 Series (HP PSC).

before you start

You must have the following to use HP Instant Share with your HP PSC:

• Access to the Internet through an Internet Service Provider (ISP).

• A functional local area network.

• A HP PSC connected to the network.

Further, your HP PSC requires the following networking settings to be able to

connect to the HP Instant Share server:

• The DNS IP address.

• The full proxy name or IP address if a proxy is used to access the Internet.
