Installing a PCI Hot Plug Expansion Board
Before installing an expansion board in a PCI Hot Plug expansion slot, ensure
that your system meets the following three criteria:
■ The primary operating system supports PCI Hot Plug technology.
■ PCI Hot Plug support is enabled.
■ PCI Hot Plug drivers are installed, if required.
Instructions for installing an expansion board in a PCI Hot Plug slot is
provided in Chapter 10, “PCI Hot Plug Technology.”
Smart Array 5i Controller
Your Compaq ProLiant ML370 Generation 2 server supports the
Smart Array 5i Controller for integrated RAID array configuration and
installation of up to 14 internal or external storage devices per channel.
For more detailed instructions for installing a Smart Array 5i Controller, see
Chapter 6, “Smart Array 5i Controller.” Advance configuration information is
provided in the user guide that ships with the option kit.
Remote Insight Lights-Out Edition
Options
Remote Insight Lights-Out Edition options provide a PCI-based, single-board
computer that contains a built-in processor and fully supports keyboard,
mouse, and PCI video functions. This option enables you to use a standard
Web browser and Compaq Insight Manager to access and manage your server
remotely from any console on the network, regardless of the state of the host
operating system.
