The default user name, password, and DNS name are:
G User name: Administrator
G Password: The last four digits of the serial number
G DNS name: RIBXXXXXXXXXXXX where the 12 Xs are the
Medium Access Control (MAC) address of the Remote Insight board
IMPORTANT: User names and passwords are case sensitive.
Compaq SmartStart
Remote Insight Lights-Out Edition boards are fully configurable
through the Compaq SmartStart interview process.
Survey Utility
Using Survey Utility, you can access the Compaq survey configuration
file, which provides the latest server configuration information to assist
in the diagnostic process. Survey is supported on Window NT,
Windows 2000, and NetWare operating systems.
IML
Remote Insight boards maintain a copy of the servers IML that can be
accessed using a standard browser, even when the server is not
operational. This capability can be helpful when troubleshooting remote
host server problems.
ROM-based Configuration Utility (F8)
This is a versatile, system-independent ROM-based configuration utility
that enables fast and easy setup of Remote Insight boards.
Single mouse cursor mode
The Remote Insight board can be set to use single cursor mode in
remote console (requires Java 1.3.0_01 VM).
Enabled Pocket PC access
Firmware version 2.31 and newer provides a preview of Remote Insight
board support for wireless and dial-up access from the Compaq iPAQ
TM
H3600 Series Pocket PC handheld devices. The Remote Insight board
provides a special user-interface when connecting from the Compaq
iPAQ Pocket PC.
NOTE: The Pocket PC access is a technology preview enhancement only and is not
currently supported beyond verification by the Compaq Technical Phone Support Center
that it is configured correctly.
