NOTE: The auxiliary VHDCI SCSI cable is provided in the Smart Array 5i Controller option
kit.
7. Fit the connector into the open slot and tighten the connector screws to
secure the connector to the chassis.
8. Connect an external storage device or system to the auxiliary
VHDCI SCSI connector.
When you have completed all internal cabling activities, reinstall components
removed prior to installing the Smart Array 5i Controller. Install each
component in reverse order from the order recommended for removal.
NOTE: If you removed the redundant fan cage before installing the Smart Array 5i
Controller, reinstall it after all cabling is complete.
Completing the Installation
After you have installed the Smart Array 5i Controller and all internal cabling
is in place, complete the installation by reinstalling the components you
removed earlier. Install components in reverse order from the order in which
they were removed as follows:
■ Center wall
■ PCI expansion boards
When all of the removed components are installed and cabled, install any other
hardware options before replacing the access panel and powering up the
server.
