4. Remove the battery.
To replace the component, reverse the removal procedure.
IMPORTANT: After replacing the battery, the server is automatically configured with the default
settings. The user can update these settings using RBSU.
For more information about battery replacement or proper disposal, contact an authorized reseller or an
authorized service provider.
System board
To remove the component:
1. Power down the server (on page 26).
2. Unlock the bezel (on page 27).
3. Remove the access panel ("Access panel" on page 28).
4. Remove all DIMMs ("DIMM" on page 42).
5. Remove all PCI expansion boards ("Expansion boards" on page 50).
6. Remove the system air baffle and PCI card guide ("System air baffle and PCI card guide" on page
39).
7. Remove the PCI-X extender board, if installed ("PCI-X extender board" on page 50).
8. Disconnect all cables from the system board ("System board components" on page 68).
9. Remove the heatsink.
CAUTION: Heatsink retaining screws should be loosened in diagonally opposite pairs (in an
"X" pattern).
