In multiprocessor configurations, each processor must have a valid Lockstep memory mode
configuration.
In multiprocessor configurations, each processor may have a different valid Lockstep memory mode
configuration.
Population order
For Lockstep memory mode configurations with a single processor or multiple processors, populate the DIMM
slots in the following order:
First: B and C
Last: E and F
Do not populate the DIMM slots A and D.
After installing the DIMMs, to configure memory protection mode, use RBSU ("HP ROM-Based Setup Utility"
on page 102).
Installing a DIMM
1. Power down the server (on page 19).
2. Remove all power:
a. Disconnect each power cord from the power source.
b. Disconnect each power cord from the server.
3. Do one of the following:
o Extend the server from the rack (on page 19).
o Remove the server from the rack (on page 21).
4. Remove the access panel (on page 22).
5. Remove the air baffle (on page 23).
6. Open the DIMM slot latches.
7. Install the DIMM.
8. Install the air baffle (on page 23).
