After installing the DIMMs, use RBSU to configure the system for mirrored memory support ("Configuring
mirrored memory" on page 75).
Installing a DIMM
CAUTION: To avoid damage to the hard drives, memory, and other system components, the air
baffle, drive blanks, and access panel must be installed when the server is powered up.
1. Power down the server (on page 18).
2. Extend the server from the rack (on page 18).
3. Remove the access panel (on page 20).
4. If installed, remove the BBWC battery pack or the FBWC capacitor pack (on page 20).
5. Remove the air baffle (on page 21).
6. Open the DIMM slot latches.
7. Install the DIMM.
8. Install the air baffle (on page 21).
9. If removed, install the BBWC battery pack or the FBWC capacitor pack ("Installing the BBWC battery
pack or the FBWC capacitor pack" on page 57).
10. Install the access panel (on page 20).
If you are installing DIMMs in online spare, mirrored, or lock-step configuration, configure this mode in RBSU
("HP ROM-Based Setup Utility" on page 72).
