Installation
Installation overview
To install the HP BladeSystem Management Pack for Microsoft® System Center Essentials 2007:
1. Download the appropriate management pack from the HP website
(http://www.hp.com/servers/integration
), and unzip the file.
2. Unzip the self-extractable executable kit and select the appropriate management pack to install.
The following table shows the kits available for selection.

3. Install the HP BladeSystem Management Pack for Microsoft® System Center Essentials 2007 into the
System Center Essentials environment.
4. The installer automatically imports the management packs to the System Center Essentials 2007.
5. Register the HP BladeSystem c-Class enclosures in the HP BladeSystem Enclosure Monitor Manager
tool launched during the last steps of the installation.
6. Complete the post-installation procedures to discover and display HP BladeSystem c-Class enclosures
in the System Center Essentials 2007 console.
Preinstallation checklist
Before installing the HP BladeSystem Management Pack for Microsoft® System Center Essentials 2007,
the following requirements must be met:
• Microsoft® System Center Essentials 2007 is properly installed on the system. The HP BladeSystem
Management Pack is not for use on systems running Microsoft® System Center Operations Manager
2007.
• The HP ProLiant Server Management Pack 1.0 for System Center Essentials 2007 is properly
installed.
• The appropriate versions of firmware are installed on HP BladeSystem c-Class enclosure. The latest
support information is listed in the Microsoft® System Center Integrations Support Matrix.
• A network connection has been established from the System Center Essentials 2007 server to the
managed HP BladeSystem c-Class enclosures and the HP Onboard Administrator Web console. This
