ProCurve NAC 1.1
The 1.1 update of the ProCurve NAC 800 provides:
■ Support for Microsoft Vista clients
•Windows Vista Ultimate
• Windows Vista Home Premium
• Windows Vista Home Basic
• Windows Vista Business
• Windows Vista Enterprise
■ Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 support for the NAC 800 Web browser
interface
■ Support for Microsoft Server Message Block (SMB) signing with agentless
testing
■ Deep check testing
■ Post-connect NAC testing
■ Integration with Microsoft Systems Management Software (SMS)
■ Support for remote Device Activity Capture (DAC)
■ DHCP plug-in deployment
In addition, note that the NAC 800 no longer supports Microsoft NT or 98
clients.
SMB Signing
The NAC 800 can now connect to Microsoft endpoints that require SMB
signing when the agentless test method is selected. When SMB signing is
enabled, the Windows Server and the Windows workstation verify each packet
they exchange.
Deep Check Testing
For hotfix tests, the NAC 800 checks the endpoint’s registry to verify that the
specified hotfix is applied on the endpoint. You can now select deep check to
have the NAC 800 verify that hotfix files have been installed on the endpoint
as well.
