How Do I. . .?
This section provides, or points to, instructions for doing common
tasks with your HP OfficeJet.
Manually Receiving Faxes
To receive faxes manually, turn off the Auto Answer light on the front
panel and follow these steps. Be sure there are no documents in the
document tray, or they may be faxed after the next steps.
When the HP OfficeJet rings, pick up the handset
of a telephone that’s on the same telephone line as
the HP OfficeJet.
If you hear fax tones, press
Start Fax
,
or,
if you’re
receiving from an extension phone (on the same
telephone line as the HP OfficeJet, but not
connected directly to it), dial
123
.
Now hang up the telephone or stay on the line to
talk after the fax finishes.
Note:
If you are set up to receive faxes automatically but pick up the
telephone and hear fax tones, follow the instructions in step 2 above.
