830 CHAPTER 20: LIVE UPDATE
Updating 3Com
Router Manager
You have just installed 3Com Router Manager on your PC and want to
ensure that it is using the latest software updates:
1 Click Live Update on the toolbar.
2 In the Live Update Setup Wizard, select Use Browser Settings and click
Next.
3 Click Finish. 3Com Network Director will check for available software
updates on the Live Update server.
4 The Live Update - Select File Groups dialog box will display any available
updates.
If there is an update available for 3Com Router Manager, the 3Com
Router Manager Updates file group will be listed in the Select File Groups
dialog box.
5 Select the 3Com Router Manager Updates file group in the table of
available updates and click More Details... to view the details on that
update. This will open the Live Update - Select File Groups - 3Com Router
Manager Updates dialog box.
6 Click Release Notes to display the readme file in Notepad. You can then
check that this update applies to the version of 3Com Router Manager
installed on your PC.
7 Click OK to return to the Live Update - Select File Groups dialog box.
8 Click in the Load column to ensure that the 3Com Router Manager
Updates files are selected for download.
9 Click OK to download the update.
When the download is complete a message box will tell you where the
files have been downloaded to.
10 Make a note of the file names for the files that have been downloaded.
11 Also make a note of the folder where the files have been downloaded to.
12 Close 3Com Network Director.
13 Using Windows Explorer, open the folder where the files have been
downloaded to.
14 Double-click on the files that have been downloaded to install the
updates.
