Click Finish, to add the report type to the Custom Report Types dialog
box. Click OK to close the Custom Report Types dialog box. You can now
use your custom report type in the same way as any of the pre-defined
report types.
Examples The following section gives some examples of how the Reporting feature
can be used. The feature-specific report types are covered in the chapter
for the relevant feature. See “
Feature Reports Typ e s” on page 454 for
further details.
Assessing Network
Expansion Capability
You have a number of additional servers to add to your network and you
want to find out if you have enough capacity in your network and to
work out which 3Com devices to connect them to.
You can get an assessment of how much network capacity you have by
charting available ports using the Save to CSV facility in Reports, in
combination with an external CSV tool such as Microsoft Excel. To do
this:
1 Launch the Reports dialog box from Tools > Reports and select the
Capacity report type.
2 Click Generate Report.
