Obtaining Events for
Received SNMP Traps
You have a service monitoring application that can generate SNMP traps
when services are under heavy load or have errors and you wish to
incorporate the information from the service monitoring application into
the 3Com Network Director events system.
1 Add the IP address of the PC running 3Com Network Director to the
SNMP trap destination table of the service monitoring application. Refer
to the user guide of your service monitoring application for details of how
to do this.
2 Launch the Events window by selecting Alerts/Events > View All Events.
3 Launch the global Advanced Settings dialog box from within the Events
window by selecting Settings > Advanced.
4 Click Details in the Trap Filtering option to launch the Trap Filtering dialog
box.
5 Clear the Discard all traps received from undiscovered devices check box:
