This dialog box allows you to enable or disable the individual features of
Smart Event Analysis by toggling their respective check boxes.
You may also disable Smart Event Analysis completely by clearing the
Enable Smart Event Analysis check box.
If you completely disable Smart Event Analysis, the per-event settings for
Smart Event Analysis will be ignored.
Controlling SNMP Trap Filtering
The Enable trap filtering option in the global Smart Event Analysis dialog
box allows you to enable or disable the entire SNMP trap filtering feature.
More precise control over SNMP trap filtering can be obtained by clicking
Details to launch the Trap Filtering dialog box:

By default, 3Com Network Director discards all SNMP traps received from
devices and ports that are not in the current map without generating
events for them. The Trap Filtering dialog box allows you to enable or
disable the generating of events for SNMP traps that are received from
devices or ports that are not in the current map by toggling their
respective check boxes.
3Com Network Director will not register itself as an SNMP trap
destination with devices that are not in the map.
If you wish 3Com Network Director to receive SNMP traps from a device
that is not in the map then you will need to manually add the IP address
