For example, if you choose to save a map with the name Corporate Core,
the following three files will be created:
■ Corporate Core.map
■ Corporate Core.properties
■ Corporate Core Events.edb
All three files are saved to the location that you specify when you save the
map.
Should you wish to move a saved map from one location to another, it is
important that you move all three files, otherwise you will lose
information related to the map.
Network Login Network Login is a 3Com feature allowing you to control network access
to end stations via 3Com switches. This feature combines the IEEE
802.1X protocol for port control and RADIUS for authentication. IEEE
802.1X specifies how to have ports on an access point (e.g. a 3Com
switch) restrict access to a connected end station.
When an end station attempts to first access the network, via a port on a
suitably configured 3Com switch, the switch informs the end station that
it is a restricted port. The end station operating system should send the
authorization credentials of username and password to the switch, which
then asks its configured RADIUS server to verify. If the RADIUS server
verifies the credentials the port (and hence end station) is given access to
the network.
MapName Events.edb Details of the events that have occurred against this
map.
