Discovery Options Pane
This step of the wizard allows you to restrict the type of devices that the
discovery process will add to the map:

You may wish to do this for the following reasons:
■ To filter out devices from the map that are not directly managed by
yourself to ensure that your map represents only devices of interest to
you.
■ To ensure you do not reach the 3Com Network Director node limit
during discovery.
If you leave the Use defaults from Tools > Options dialog option checked
then the settings will be retrieved from the Tools > Options dialog box,
Discovery tab. See “
Options Dialog Box - Discovery Tab” on page 125 for
a description of this tab.
By unchecking this option you can select one of the options as follows:
Only core devices This instructs the discovery process to discard any
non-core devices. Core devices include.
■ Managed switches, hubs and routers
■ NBX Network Call Processors
