These are the subcommands that can then be entered. The following pages describes
these options.
If you press
[Return]
instead of one of these subcommands, you will be returned to the
TRACE main prompt and then may specify TRACE TIO or TRACE X25.
T[RACE] TI[O] TRACEON
Starts extended tracing on a selected port of an asynchronous processor board in a DTC
72MX.
Security level: 2
Syntax
TRACEON
dtcnum, boardnum, portnum
Parameters
dtcnum
The number TermDSM associates with a particular DTC. The DTC
command lists each DTC with its assigned number. This list is also
printed when you make a mistake while typing in a DTC number.
boardnum
Number of the asynchronous processor board within a DTC 72MX
which contains the port to be traced.
portnum
Number of the port on which tracing is to be done. As you face the back
of the DTC, the ports are numbered from zero beginning at the left of
the board.
Description
TRACE TIO is used to specify extended tracing on a selected port of an asynchronous
processor board (mux card) on a DTC 72MX.
Normally traced data is kept in a circular buffer for each port. When extended tracing on
a selected port is specified, the size of the buffer for the port is extended, while the size of
the trace area for the other ports on the same board is reduced.
Only one port per board may have extended tracing active at one time. TRACEON starts
extended tracing. No trace file is created with the trace. You need to perform a DUMP
PORT to store the trace data into a disk file.
Use TRACEOFF to stop tracing.
NOTE Tracing a port and dumping information pertaining to a port does not reset (or otherwise
affect) the associated device. If you need to reset the device, use the RESET command.
T[RACE] TI[O] TRACEOF[F]
Turns off extended tracing of an asynchronous port on a DTC 72MX.Security level : 2.
Syntax
TRACEOF[F]
dtcnum, boardnum
