The file will also contain:
• The day and time of the dump.
• The type of dump (logical device number or port).
• Headings before each of the major areas of dump information.
If a dump file for an ldev number or port is to be printed, a printer file equation with the
CCTL option should be used. In the following example, TRM123AB is the name of the
dump file:

NOTE Complete information describing the situation that necessitated the use of DUMP is
invaluable in assisting the HP representative’s analysis of TermDSM dumps. You may
use the COMMENT command to help document the situation.
DU[MP] DT[C]
Captures data pertaining to a particular DTC and writes it to a disk file.
Security level: 1.
Syntax
DT[C]
dtcnum
Parameter
dtcnum
The number TermDSM associated with a particular DTC. The DTC
command lists each DTC with its assigned number. This list is also
printed when you make a mistake while typing in a DTC number.
CAUTION This subcommand resets all sessions on the DTC under test.
Description
When this subcommand is entered, the following message will be printed on the
terminal:
Warning: This will reset all users on that DTC. (TDSM 44)
Do you want to continue (yes or no)?
If you respond no, the DUMP prompt will be repeated for you to enter another DUMP
subcommand. If you respond yes, the dump continues after the following message:
The DTC dump can take as long as 7 minutes .....
After the dump, a selftest is done on the DTC and status on each card is displayed.
The DTC dump information is placed in two files. The first file contains information
about the part of the DTS software that resides on the host (the HP 3000). When the
dump of this information is complete, the following information will be displayed:
