SNA/SDLC Link Overview
AS/400 Hardware and Software Requirements
SNA/SDLC Link requires this IBM AS/400 hardware:
•AnIBM AS/400 computer system with the appropriate
communications controller card installed.
SNA/SDLC Link requires this IBM AS/400 software:
• OS/400 operating system (all SNA-related software is included
within the OS/400 operating system).
For more-specific information, contact your Hewlett-Packard sales
representative.
HP e3000 Hardware and Software Requirements
You can run SNA/SDLC Link on any HP e3000 computer that has at
least 32MB of real memory. Depending on your system configuration,
more memory might be required. Contact your Hewlett-Packard sales
representative for more information.
SNA/SDLC Link requires this HP e3000 hardware:
• A HP e3000 computer system.
• A Programmable Serial Interface (PSI) card or Advanced
Communication Controller (ACC) card and the appropriate cables
(contact your Hewlett-Packard sales representative for more
information). One PSI is required for each active link to the remote
system, and eight active links can be supported on the ACC card..
• A switched or leased full-duplex or half-duplex data communications
line between the HP e3000 and the remote system. Note that
whether full-duplex or half-duplex transmission is used is
determined by the remote system configuration or the modem used
on the remote system.
• A block mode terminal that is supported by VPLUS, for use with the
Node Management Services (NMS) NMMGR configuration manager.
SNA/SDLC Link requires this HP e3000 software:
• HP e3000 Multiprogramming Executive with Integrated POSIX
(MPE/iX) operating system.
