SNA/Token Ring Link Overview
Host Hardware and Software Requirements
SNA/Token Ring Link requires this IBM host hardware:
•AnIBM System/370-compatible mainframe (for example,
Model 370, 303x, and 43xx).
•AnIBM 37xx-compatible communications controller that supports
an NCP Token Ring Interface (NTRI) connection or an IBM 3174
Establishment Controller that supports Token Ring.
SNA/Token Ring Link requires this IBM host software:
MVS/SP or MVS/XA operating system.
ACF/NCP network control program.
ACF/VTAM telecommunications access method.
NCP Token Ring Interface (NTRI) software (NCP version 4 release 3
or later for the IBM 3725, and version 5 release 4 for the IBM 3745).

representative.
AS/400 Hardware and Software Requirements
SNA/Token Ring Link requires this IBM AS/400 hardware:
•AnIBM AS/400 computer system with the appropriate
communications controller card installed.
SNA/Token Ring Link requires this IBM AS/400 software:
OS/400 operating system (all SNA-related software is included
within the OS/400 operating system).

HP 3000 Hardware and Software Requirements
You can run SNA/Token Ring Link on an HP 3000 Series 900
HP-Precision Bus (HP-PB) system that has at least 32MB of real
memory. Depending on your system configuration, more memory might
be required. Contact your Hewlett-Packard sales representative for
more information.
SNA/Token Ring Link requires this HP 3000 hardware:
An HP 3000 Series 900 HP-PB computer system.
An HP Token Ring HP-PB Adapter Card and the appropriate IBM
Type 1 token ring cables (contact your Hewlett-Packard sales
representative for more information). One Token Ring Card is
required for each active link to the remote system.
