10. Save a backup copy of your NMCONFIG file.
11. Run NMMGRVER to update the NMCONFIG file to the version for these patches.
12. Run NMMGR and make the following configuration changes:
If your configuration is currently PC-Based, then make sure only those DTC that
you wish to migrate to the host based configuration are configured. DELETE any
that should not be migrated.
Perform any of the configurations changes that are needed to account for the
conditions described in the section “Your Host’s Configuration is Currently
PC-Based”.
Execute Validate/DTS to ensure that there are no validation errors.
Go to the NMMGR Main screen and configure:
Are you using OpenView DTC Manager? [N]
If any DTCs on the OpenView DTCMgr PC have or if you plan to use any of the
host-based DTCs for X.25 system-to-system or PAD connections then configure:
Do you have X.25 system-to-system or PAD connections? [Y]
On the DTS Host Configuration screen enter a valid profile name for the
non-nailed TIO and PAD port profiles. Enter the number of non-nailed ldevs
desired. Enter valid entries for the Link fields (Link name, Link Type, Physical
path of LANIC).
Perform any of the configurations changes that are needed to account for the
conditions described in the section “Your Host’s Configuration is Currently
Host-Based”.
Validate the configuration with Validate/DTS. Exit NMMGR.
13. Use the file created on the PC to create the new Host-Based DTC configuration:
:file nmmgrcmd=<MPE filename>
Where <MPE filename> is the file transferred from the PC. The command file will
perform the commands on NMCONFIG.PUB.SYS.
Run NMMGR with one of the following commands:
:NMMGR
Or to capture the output in a file:
:NMMGR >NMMGROUT
NMMGR will run and execute the commands in the file.
14. When NMMGR finishes, review the results and ensure that no errors occurred other
than the following allowed messages:
:SAVE NMMGROUT
:RESET NMMGRCMD
Item already exists. (NMGRERR 21)
The source path was not found. (NMGRERR 280)
15. .Run NMMGRVER with the special parm that will launch the Host Migration tool:
