2. If you don't see a job logged on as: JINETD,MANAGER.SYS then check that FTP is
properly configured on the host. Then check that the network services are running
and start the ARPA process.

3. Install the OpenView DTC Manager patch with the migration tool on the Local PC.
4. On the Local PC, logon to the DTC Mgr PC where the DTCs that will be migrated are
being managed (this can be the Local or a Remote DTC Manager).
NOTE The Remote DTC Manager PC does NOT have to have the patch installed.
5. On the HP OpenView Menus select [DTC Tools] [Manage Multiple DTCs…]. Select
the new button labeled 'Migrate to Host-Based Mgmt’'
6. Select the DTCs from the Known DTC's List to be migrated, click OK. You will be
prompted for the migration filename to be used.
7. Select or type the filename in the filename box. The extension is set to *.PUB so that
the file will be copied to group PUB when it is transferred to the host.
The tool will run and display any errors it encounters. If you see the message
‘Command successfully completed’, then proceed to the next step otherwise fix any
errors that need to be fixed. See the file c:\dtcmgr\exe\multidtc\multidtc.err for a
list of all errors that occurred.
The following message is only a warning, if this was the only error displayed, then
the generation of the migration file was successful:
The TAC is not supported on Host-Based Management.
Remove the TAC before downloading the DTC from the Host.
8. Copy the migration file to the HP e3000 host:
On the START menu, select [Programs] [MS-DOS Prompt] In the MS-DOS window
enter the following commands:
C:\> cd \dtcmgr\exe\multidtc
C:\> dir ( you should see the migration filename created above.)
C:\> ftp <HP e3000 system>
User> PC,manager.sys,pub
Password> (enter passwords, if any)
ftp> put <migration file> <MPE filename>;rec=,,v,ascii
(<MPE filename> must be a legal MPE filename.)
Example:
ftp> put nmcfgcmd.pub nmcfgcmd.pub;rec=,,f,ascii
ftp> quit

9. Install the patches that contain the new Host-based Management functions. When
the system is rebooted. DTS should startup normally, even though the NMCONFIG
file is still the old format.
