To Use EVLOG
You can run EVLOG using default options or interactively to select and modify specific
options. Instructions for each run mode follow. The options are described in the
remainder of this chapter.
To Run EVLOG Using Default Options
To format a host-based X.25 log file using the default options, enter the following MPE
command:
:evlog
logfilename
where
logfilename
is the name of the file that you want to format.
This command causes the entire log file to be formatted with default options. EVLOG
exits when all the records have been formatted.
To Run EVLOG Interactively
To format a host-based X.25 lof file and select the desired filter options, enter either of
the following commands:
:evlog
or
:evlog
logfilename,n
where
logfilename
is the name of the file created in step 1 and n is any non-zero PARM.
For example
:evlog myfile,2
When EVLOG is run using the above syntax, the following menu will be displayed:
EVLOG C.00.00 001
File type = 7 (Version = A1200D00)
Options:
0 — Set all options back to their default values
1 — File (, 0 records)
2 — Records (1..0)
3 — Event types (ALL)
4 — Subsystems (ALL)
5 — Event Codes (1..2147483647)
6 — Logical Channel Identifier (LCI) (ALL)
7 — Virtual Port Number (VPN) (ALL)
8 — Time/offset format (HOST time)
9 — Time/offset (1970–2020) 70-01-01-00-00-00
20-01-01-00-00-00)
? — Redisplay current options
