Cannot Run FTP
Cannot Run FTP
• Did you specify the correct
filename.group.account
to run the FTP user program:
FTP.ARPA.SYS
• Check with your network administrator: The network and links must be active.
Cannot Connect to the Remote Host
• Did you enter the correct ARPA domain name, IP address, or NS node name? See your
network administrator.
• Check with your network administrator to find out the following:
— Does the remote host system support FTP?
— Is the FTP server up and running on the remote host system?
— Is the network link active on the remote host system?
— If an NS node name was used, make sure it is correctly entered in the network
directory. If an ARPA domain name was used, make sure the name has been
configured in the two required ASCII files. If not, use the IP address.
Cannot Logon to Remote (MPE/iX User)
• If an MPE/iX user cannot logon to the remote system, verify the logon account and
passwords are correct.
• Try to log on from the remote system with the user's account and passwords.
User Cannot Logon to MPE/iX
• If a remote user accessing MPE/iX cannot logon, verify that the logon account and
passwords are correct.
• If you tried to log on from a system that supports prompting, try to log on using the FTP
USER command:
ftp> USER session,user.account,group
• Check that passwords are entered correctly. Passwords must be entered as follows:
