Configuration Tips
If you have configured a DTC16RX as the remote dtc, and the 3000 is configurea as
HOST based for DTC management, remember to match the following EXACTLY as they
are configured on the DTC16RX config screens.
1. 1.Match the DTC node name EXACTLY as configured on the 9000 rdtc configuration
screens.
2. Match the physical hardware (including the port types).
3. Enter 00-00-00-00-00-00 for the MAC ADDRESS of the DTC16RX
If the HP e3000 is host based, then the devices on the dtc's must be NAILED to LDEV's
(Printer ports imply NAILED devices).
Troubleshooting
Make sure all nodes involved respond to PING. If not re-check ip addresses, subnet
masks, and routing table info.
NOTE In order to test the functionality of RAFCP, the product needs to be working over a
routed network. It WILL NOT WORK if the DTC is on the same subnet with the 3000!
A neat trick to test how the DNS server will respond to a DNS request is to perform the
following;
nslookup
>set querytype=any
At this point, you should be able to enter the different DNS names and retrieve IP
addresses for the DTC's, the UDP and TXT entry for each host.
