Migrating your Configuration to Host-Based Management

You will be prompted for the filename to be migrated. Enter NMCONFIG.PUB.SYS.
This will run the tool that will take the DTCs configured in the PC- tree and merge
them with the configuration added by the command file created on the PC.
The following message will be displayed if the migration was successful. If you see
any other error messages, the migration was not successful. Go to the manual Using
the Node Management Services (NMS) Utilities for more detailed descriptions and
action to take to fix them.
CONVERSION completed successfully. (NMMGRVERMSG 0)
16. If the Host Migration tool finds any configuration discrepancies, then you will see
the following message:
Migration process found configuration discrepancies. (NMMGRVERWARN 50)
The tool will also display messages indicating the nature of the discrepancies. You
must correct them for the configuration to validate successfully. See Appendix B for
the cause and action to take to correct any configuration discrepancies.
17. Run NMMGR and correct any configuration errors.
18. Update the configuration to customize any TIO or PAD ports you desire.
19. Run Validate/DTS and correct any validation errors found.
20. Perform a DTS shutdown/restart:

:dtccntrl func=restart
21. Shutdown the OpenView DTC Manager PC that WAS managing the DTCs. Remove
any TACs that may still be installed in the DTCs.
22. Cycle the power OFF then ON for all the DTCs. They should reset and download
successfully from this host.
23. Startup X.25 and PAD protocols on any desired DTC. You can use the new Manage
Multiple DTC option in TermDSM:

Running NMMGRVER from NMMGR
The New Host-Based Management release provides two ways to launch NMMGRVER from
within NMMGR.
• When the New Host-Based Management is first installed and the NMCONFIG file
needs to be updated.
