Migrating From Previous Releases

Running NMMGRVER

To run NMMGRVER, logon as MANAGER.SYS in the PUB group and run the

utility by entering NMMGRVER after the MPE/iX prompt. NMMGRVER will

prompt you for the conﬁguration ﬁle name. Enter NMCONFIG, and Y to

the conﬁrmation prompt.

The steps to run NMMGRVER are shown here:

NMMGRVER generates a backup copy of you old conﬁguration ﬁle under

ﬁle name NMBACKn, (where n starts with A, then B, C, and so on, for

multiple backup copies). It also creates a temporary ﬁle Nxxxx, that is

purged upon completion of NMMGRVER conversion.

After converting the network conﬁguration ﬁle with NMMGRVER, you

then run NMMGR if needed to modify the DTS subsystem to ﬁt your

actual hardware conﬁguration. Follow the steps described in Chapter 5,

“Conﬁguring Serial Devices (for Host-Based Management),” for

modifying you network conﬁguration ﬁle.
