Using the Web Server
Simply point your web browser to:
http://www.yourcompanyhere.com/ (for non-secure access; assumes a standard listening port of 80)
https://www.yourcompanyhere.com/ (for secure access; assumes a standard listening port of 443)
Web server content located under the DocumentRoot of the secure virtual server is automatically secured
when viewed with a https:// URL. For CGI applications, no special programming is necessary to take
advantage of this security, though additional security-related environment variables are available. See the
Environment Variables section of the Mod_ssl manual.
The web server creates numerous log files in /APACHE/PUB/logs that will grow without bound. You will want
to periodically examine and purge these. You should only purge log files when the server is down, or after
restarting the server as shown:
1. :HELLO MGR.APACHE,PUB
2. :XEQ SH.HPBIN.SYS -L
3. $ cd logs
4. $ mv access_log access_log.snapshot (the server is still writing to access_log.snapshot)
5. $ mv error_log error_log.snapshot (the server is still writing to error_log.snapshot)
6. $ mv ssl_engine_log ssl_engine_log.snapshot (the server is still writing to
ssl_engine_log.snapshot)
7. $ mv ssl_request_log ssl_request_log.snapshot (the server is still writing to
ssl_request_log.snapshot)
8. $ kill -HUP $(cat httpd.pid)
9. Process and optionally purge the *.snapshot files; the server is no longer writing to them.
