Security screen.
Fields This screen is used to permanently associate ldev numbers and other information with
individual connections that can be made through a DTC/X.25 Network Access card; that
is, to configure nailed PAD connections.
DTC name Display only.
Card number Display only.
Ldev The logical device (ldev) number to be associated with the connection.
Each ldev number must be unique; it may not be duplicated by any
other device configured on the system.
Profile The PAD terminal or PAD printer profile name to be associated with
the connection. The features defined by the profile must correspond to
the actual operating features of the connection and the device. See
Chapter 4 for more information on terminal and printer profiles.
Device Name The name associated with the PAD-connected terminal or printer. The
device name can be up to eight (8) characters and must be unique for
each PAD connection on this DTC card. This is the device name
assigned to the PAD connection. This name is used to connect to a
specific ldev on the target system. If you want the PAD port to be able
to connect to a PAD nailed device on a system where you have
configured a non-managed DTC this name must be configured
exactly the same on a system where you have configured a
non-managed DTC if you want this port to be able to connect to a
PAD nailed device. See Step 10: Configure DTC Cards, DTC/X.25
Card Configuration -- Nailed PAD Connections.
Remote Device (PAD) X.25 Address The X.25 address of the remote PAD device.
Where devices are connected to a multiport PAD, include port
subaddresses in this field.
CUG No. (Optional) Enter the Closed User Group (CUG) number of the remote PAD, if
there is one, or leave the field blank. Refer to the network subscription
form for the CUG number. If the CUG number entered here does not
correspond to your network subscription, calls will be cleared by the
network with the message CLR DTE 70. Note that CUG is a PSN
service, and is not configurable from NMMGR.
