Host Migration Tool Status Messages
The following message will be displayed if the migration was successful. If you see any
other error messages the migration was not successful. Go to the manual Using the Node
Management Services (NMS) Utilities for more detailed descriptions and actions to take
to fix them.
CONVERSION completed successfully. (NMMGRVERMSG 0)
When the Host Migration tool is run, the tool may find configurations discrepancies that
it can't resolve. You must correct these discrepancies before the configuration will
successfully validate. If the Host Migration tool finds any configuration discrepancies,
then you will see the following message:
Migration process found configuration discrepencies (NMMGRVERWARN 50)
You can either correct the configuration in the Host-Based configuration or
modify the configuration in the PC-based tree and rerun the tool.
If you see this message, the Host migration tool will have also generated one or more of
the following messages. Take the action specified to correct the configuration so that the
configuration file will successfully validate.
MSG 150 The Host-Based DTC type does not match the PC-Based DTC type for
DTC <DTC node name>
Cause: The DTC type configured in the Host-Based DTC does not match the DTC type
in the PC-Based DTC. The DTC in the PC-Based configuration will not be merged into
the Host-based configuration. If the DTC in the Host-based configuration was migrated
from the OVDTCMGR, then the TIO devices will be assigned ldev of (-1) and any PAD
devices will be assigned ldev of (1). These are invalid ldev numbers for TIO printers and
PAD devices and errors will be detected by Validation.
DTCCNTRL DTC=DTC.ITG.HP;CARD=A;FUNC=STOPBOTH
Action: You can take either of the following actions:
•Run NMMGR to examine and enter the correct ldevs in the configuration for all cards in
this DTC in the Host-based configuration.
• Change the configuration of the DTC in the PC-based configuration to the correct
type and with the cards and port type configuration that matches the DTC in the
Host-based configuration. Then run the Host Migration tool with the command
NMMGRVER;parm=77.
MSG 151 Host Based cardtype does not match the PC-Based cardtype in
DTC <DTCname>, for card <x>.
Cause: The card type configured in the Host-Based DTC does not match the card type in
the PC-Based DTC. The card will not be merged into the Host-based tree. The
Host-Based DTC configuration for DTC <dtcname> card <x> may have device
configurations that are invalid for Host-Based management. If the DTC in the
Host-based configuration was migrated from the OVDTCMGR, then the TIO devices will be
assigned ldev of (-1) and any PAD devices will be assigned ldev of (1). These are invalid
ldev numbers for TIO printers and PAD devices and errors will be detected by
Validation.
Action: Run NMMGR to examine and enter the correct ldevs in the configuration for
specified card in the DTC with the listed DTC Name in the Host-based configuration.
