A Guide to Success with the A5814A-003 SCSI-FC Router

Notes:
a) As you have two Routers and only one port you must use an
FC Switch to multiplex these connections.
b) To avoid "surprising fact #2" you MUST use "Zoning" on the Switch to
isolate the HP e3000 Routers from the Windows System.
c) Use "
Single Initiator Zoning
"; Zones: "Router1" (1,2), "Router2" (3,2),
"Windows" Ports 7 and 8. .
d) With Current Brocade products you should be able to use LUN Security!
Good Example #3
Three HP e3000 HBA/Routers hooked to two VA7100s which are managed by
a single CV-SDM workstation.
Notes:
a) Zones are (1,2,3) (7,8,6) and (4,5)
b) LUN Security could be used on VA7100 "Y" Port A,B and "Z" Port B.
c) LUN Security NOT allows on VA7100 "Z" port A.
Bad Example #3a
Three HP e3000 HBA/Routers hooked to two VA7100 which are managed by
a single CV-SDM workstation.
