Using NMMGR in Screen Mode

Selecting a Conﬁguration Path

Guided conﬁguration is a procedure that automates part of the

conﬁguration process. It “guides” you through the conﬁguration screens

for a speciﬁc task. It assumes and supplies default values wherever

possible to furnish most of the conﬁguration ﬁle’s data.

When you run guided conﬁguration, you use only a minimal number of

conﬁguration screens. You will normally use fewer screens than you

would if you were performing the same task using unguided

conﬁguration. Many of these screens are different from those used for

unguided conﬁguration.

NOTE

NS/SNA is no longer offered as a product and has been removed from

the Corporate Price List. The product is obsolete with no plans for

support.

Unguided Conﬁguration

If you press the key labeled [Unguided Conﬁg] at the NS Conﬁguration

screen (#166), you will be taken to the Unguided Conﬁguration screen

shown in Figure 3-6.

From this screen, you can move to the screens that let you:

• Conﬁgure or modify a network interface.

• Conﬁgure or modify an NS link.

• Conﬁgure or modify logging parameters.
