Using NMMGR in Maintenance Mode

PURGECONF

Deletes subtrees of records from the conﬁguration ﬁle.

Syntax

PURGECONF [pathname]

Parameters

pathname The name of a path in the conﬁguration ﬁle that

describes the location of the desired subtree. It is

composed of one to eight path identiﬁers separated by

periods. The format for the pathname is:

pathid.pathid.pathid...

The last pathid speciﬁed must not exist in the

conﬁguration ﬁle. The second to last pathid must exist.

Description

PURGECONF purges records from the conﬁguration ﬁle. It functions in

the same way as the DELETE function key on screens (like the

NETXPORT.NI screen) that require you to delete, rename, add, or

modify a conﬁguration subtree. Note that the subtree will be purged

whether or not it contains data.
