NetView Alerts Error Messages
NetView Alerts Error Messages
Listed below are the error messages that can occur when an
operator-generated NetView alert is sent. They are listed in
alphabetical order according to the first word of the message. These
messages are not logged; they are written to $STDLIST.
MESSAGE: Can’t open CATSNA.PUB.SYS.
CAUSE: The SNA message catalog (CATSNA.PUB.SYS) is missing, or is
not in the correct format.
ACTION: Write down the circumstances and call your Hewlett-Packard
support contact.
MESSAGE: Invalid action code: must be from 01–20.
CAUSE: The action code specified in the alert is not within the range of
01 through 20.
ACTION: Reenter an action code that is from 01 through 20.
MESSAGE: Node not configured or message file does not exist.
CAUSE: The node specified in the alert is not configured.
ACTION: Specify a configured node.
CAUSE: The message file (
nodename
.PUB.SYS) does not exist.
ACTION: Create the message file (see Appendix B , “Netview Alerts,” for
instructions).
CAUSE: The message file (
nodename
.PUB.SYS) is not in message file
format.
ACTION: Recreate the message file, being sure to specify the
;MSG
parameter (see Appendix B , “Netview Alerts,” for instructions).
